The National Oil Corporation (NOC) has declared force majeure on the Sharara oil field, which is the main supplier to the Zawiya refinery that feeds the local market with fuels.
“A group of individuals put pressure on the workers in the Sharara oil field, forcing them to gradually stop production in the field”, NOC said, explaining that this step made the implementation of its contractual obligations impossible.
