The Special Envoy of the United States and ambassador to Libya, Richard Norland, praised the “technical proficiency” of the National Oil Corporation (NOC), considering it one of the relevant wins for Libya.

A brief statement issued by the US Embassy in Libya quoted Norland as saying “NOC technical proficiency remains a net asset to Libya in combination with a ministry that is committed to using these resources to benefit all Libyans.”.”

Last February, Norland awarded the Chairman of NOC, Mustafa Sanalla, the “Anti-Corruption Champion medal”, as the US embassy described Sanalla’s management of the oil and gas sector as “transparent”, noting that it made the NOC a neutral and technocratic institution, which works for the benefit of all Libyans.
