The Public Prosecutor has ordered the arrest of a group of people for vandalizing water supply lines run by the Man-made River Authority in the Kufra, Tazirbu, and Sarire districts south of the country.

A statement by the Public Prosecutor Office on Facebook said the suspects allegedly destroyed the pipes and stole the high-strength iron rods in the concrete to sell them on the black market.

The police department of Kufra arrested the suspects in flagrante delicto and seized the recoil machines used in the crime.

The Public Prosecution Office said it placed the suspects in custody pending the completion of inquiries.
