Russian Deputy Defense Minister, Yunus-Bek Yevkurov arrived Friday at Benina International Airport in Benghazi, leading a high-level Russian government delegation.

The Russian delegation was welcomed by officials from the parallel government and leaders of Haftar’s militias.

This is the fourth visit by the Russian Deputy Minister of Defense to the eastern region since last August, during which he met with warlord Haftar on all these visits.

The visits coincided with reports about the formation of the so-called Russia’s African Corps in five African countries, including Libya, expected to take place by this summer.
