Libyan Foreign Minister Mohamed Siyala has stressed the importance of Algeria's strategic role in supporting peace tracks in Libya that would bring about security and stability to the war-torn country.

Siyala discussed with his Algerian counterpart on Monday the latest developments in Libya, including the new executive authority, and exchanged views on regional and international issues of common interests.

The meeting came on the sidelines of the extraordinary session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level, which was held in the Egyptian capital Cairo yesterday.
