HCS

The head of the High Council of State (HCS), Mohammed Takala, met on Monday with the British Ambassador to Libya, Martin Longden, to discuss possible solutions to the Libyan political situation after the resignation of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General and head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily.

The meeting, which was held at the HCS headquarters in Tripoli, also discussed joint relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen and develop them.

Bathily announced his resignation from his position on April 16, after submitting his periodic briefing to the Security Council, holding the Libyan parties responsible for the continuation of the political crisis in the country, placing obstacles in the way of any attempts to resolve the current blockage and stalemate, and impeding reaching a settlement of the crisis.
