Interior Minister Emad Tarabulsi announced the imminent reopening of the Ras Jedir border crossing with Tunisia.
During a press conference on Sunday, the minister said the crossing would reopen within a week before the upcoming Eid al-Fitr holiday, provided there are no obstacles.
Two forces from the Ministry of Interior and the Army General Staff will secure the border area from Abu Kamash to Al-Asha.
Tarabulsi also confirmed that the security chamber would begin assessing the security situation at the crossing on Monday and develop a plan to repair any damaged systems and equipment.
