Turkey's ambassador to Libya, Kenan Yilmaz, has thanked the Libyan people and the authorities for their support and solidarity with his country and those affected by the devastating earthquake.

"We thank the authorities, the Libyan philanthropists, and the entire people for their support and solidarity with us", Yilmaz tweeted.

On Sunday, the Turkish ambassador visited Mitiga International Airport, where three planes loaded with aid took off, revealing that the relief supplies are estimated at more than 250 tons, including health supplies, medical equipment, beds for patients, tents, generators, mobile toilets, sleeping bags, blankets, heaters, foodstuffs, and clothes.

He also pointed out that there is other humanitarian aid set sail to Turkey from Misrata seaport.
