The United Nations Security Council has announced the lifting of the travel ban on Muammar Gaddafi's wife, Safiya Farkash.
However, the Council stated in its decision published on January 31 that the asset freeze procedure will continue in force.
On February 27, 2011, the Security Council imposed a travel ban on 16 people from Gaddafi’s family and his close circle.
On May 28, 2022, the Council announced that Gaddafi’s wife, Safiya, his daughter Aisha and his son Mohamed, had obtained travel permits valid for six months.
