The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) office in Libya announced on Sunday, the provision of 200 school-in-a-box kits to 72 schools, benefiting 8,000 children affected by floods in Derna.

The organization added, on its Facebook page, that “education is a lifeline for children in emergencies”, noting that access to quality education is key to their future.

On October 22, UNICEF announced the start of rehabilitation operations for 11 schools in Al-Bayda and Shahat to help return Derna students to school.
