The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) said that work on the Tobruk Gas-fired Power Plant project is ongoing, adding that the first turbine in the project is being assembled by the American General Electric Company (GE).
GECOL added in a statement on Friday that the turbine will be connected to the national grid according to the planned time table, as part of efforts to raise the power efficiency and increase its production performance.
In another context, GECOL announced that its technical teams are carrying out maintenance work on the damaged sites in Derna, and that it has succeeded in restoring power to several neighborhoods in the city.
