Libyan Finance Minister, Khaled Al-Mabrouk discussed on Friday, with his Guinea-Bissau’s counterpart, Elidio Vieira, the settlement of the debt owed to Libya, as the latter affirmed his country’s commitment to paying the debt installments on time.
This came during a meeting between Al-Mabrouk and Vieira on the sidelines of the 2024 Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund in the American capital Washington.
The meeting touched on opening the door for Libyan investors to invest in tourism and agriculture fields in Guinea-Bissau.
The two parties concluded by confirming Guinea-Bissau's commitment to pay debt installments owed to the State of Libya on time, and that the Ministry of Finance informed Libyan investors through the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the potential investment in Guinea-Bissau.
