The Libyan national football team lost match to host, Cape Verde, 1-0 on Tuesday, at the National Stadium in the capital, Praia, as part of the fourth round competitions for the teams of Group Four in the African qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The only goal of the match came at the beginning of the first half: at the 10th minute. The Cape Verdean national team was in control of the field throughout the half.
In the second half, the national team was better, and missed three scoring opportunities compared to two opportunities for the Cape Verdean team.
The Libyan team almost equalized but did not convert the opportunities well, so the match ended with Cape Verde winning by 1-0.
With this loss, the Cape Verdean team is equal to Libya in the number of points with seven points each, while the Libyan team remains in the competition with seven points, one point behind the leaders: Cameroon.
