The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) said Saturday that power had been retrieved to Misrata, Al-Khums, south Tripoli plants and Sirte steam power plant after a sudden blackout in the region.
GECOL said on Facebook that the plants had been re-operated after electricity was retrieved in them, adding that Ruwais-Tataouine in order to feed Ruwais power plant as per an agreement with the Tunisian side.
Western and southern Libya were plunged into a blackout on Friday with the GECOL saying the reason was a sudden breakdown of some generation units.
Power was later regained gradually in the two regions on late Friday, but then collapsed again plunging the regions into a total blackout again.
GECOL also said that it had regained power at the Man-made River project after it had announced that all wells and stations were stopped due to power outages on Friday.
