The mayor of Al-Kufra, Abdulrahman Agoub, said that the conditions of the displaced people from Sudan are getting worse every day, especially now in winter, adding that local and international aid is almost non-existent.
Agoub indicated in a statement to Libyq Al-Ahrar TV that the number of displaced people was increasing and had been estimated at more than 100,000 people. He said that the UN mission in Libya had not provided anything on the ground for the refugees, saying this was what they informed the mission's acting head, Stephanie Koury, during her visit to Al-Kufra.
Agoub pointed out that Al-Kufra municipality didn't have sufficient capabilities to help the refugees, and that it had only received limited amounts from the operating budget of the two governments.
