The eastern government of Abdullah Al-Thanni has decided to sue Jordan-based Libya Channel for slander.

The spokesperson of the Local Government Ministry of Al-Thanni government, Intisar Mohammed, said her ministry is going to file a libel and slander case against Libya Channel, owned by Reda Al-Nayad, brother of Libyan ambassador to the UAE Araef Al-Nayad.

Briefing the press on the case, Intisar added that it comes as a response to the accusations of stealing, embezzlement, and wasting public money pointed at the Minister of the Local Government, Mohammed Al-Farouk Al-Mahdi, which were aired on the channel in Mawtani (My Home) show on Sunday, December 27.
