Iraq's Foreign Ministry announced on Sunday that a diplomatic mission has arrived in Libya to provide consular services to the Iraqi nationals residing in the country.

A statement by the Foreign Ministry said the step came upon the instructions of Deputy Prime Minister/ Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein to serve the Iraqi community in Libya.

According to the statement, the mission will provide consular services and look into the problems facing the Iraqis living there.

The arrival of the diplomatic delegation was the result of coordination efforts between the Iraqi and Libyan authorities, Iraq's Foreign Ministry said.

Upon its arrival, the mission held multiple meetings with representatives of the Iraqi community and pledged to enhance its response to their demands, the statement noted.
