The Libyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah exchanged views with the French President’s envoy to Libya, Paul Soler, on the political process in Libya and the necessity of moving toward elections as soon as possible.

The French Embassy in Libya said on X platform that the two sides had discussed the consequences of the Derna disaster and the French humanitarian commitment to a field hospital and emergency aid worth 4 million euros to the United Nations Development Program as well as humanitarian non-governmental organizations.

The French Embassy added that the meeting reviewed the situation in Gaza, indicating that it urged for peace, security and a humanitarian ceasefire.

Dbeibah's media office reaffirmed Libya’s position rejecting what is happening in Palestine, which was clear in all international forums held to discuss Gaza, hailing France’s position in support of the Arab resolution in the United Nations General Assembly.
