The Libyan Foreign Minister Mohammed Sayala received Thursday the new European Union's ambassador to Libya Alan Bugeja.
The new ambassador stressed the need to have more cooperation between the EU and Libya, saying the High Representative of the EU Federica Mogherini told him to work on resuming the EU's mission presence in Tripoli as soon as possible.
The two officials, according to the media office of the foreign ministry, discussed different issues of interest and the implementation of the new security arrangements as well as the preparations for Italy's conference in November.
"I will be working in line with the efforts of the UNSMIL and its Head Ghassan Salame." The EU ambassador said, revisiting the issue of Sayala's request in New York for new roles for the UN mission in Libya, which Sayala cleared for him.
Sayala also told the ambassador about the border monitoring efforts and agreement with Chad, Sudan, and Niger.
The two officials also reiterated the need for establishing peace and stability in Libya by more cooperation between Libya and the EU.
