The European Union has welcomed the CBL move to reunify the bank's administration calling for a fair and transparent distribution of oil income to ensure unity and prosperity for all Libyans.

Jose Sabadell, the Union's ambassador to Libya, tweeted his approval of the move on his X platform on Sunday.

"We welcome reunification as a step in the right direction for the unity of Libya," he said.

The EU official also emphasized the need for political and technical efforts to ensure transparency and equitable distribution of oil profits among all Libyan people, saying that such a step is necessary to establish a foundation for peace and prosperity in Libya.

The announcement was made yesterday in Tripoli, declaring Libya's Central Bank as a unified and sovereign institution.
