The Libyan Ministry of Transportation has selected Misrata Airport for the incoming flights of stranded Libyans instead of Tripoli's Mitiga Airport as its infrastructure has been damaged and is the target of repeated rocket attacks by Khalifa Haftar's forces.

The Ministry of Transportation said in a statement on Sunday that the first phase of evacuation will be for Libyans stranded in Turkey and Tunisia and the rest of countries will follow afterward, reiterating that only those who finished the quarantine time and tested negative are eligible for this process.

"Pamphlets will be given to all flight crews to instruct them on how to tackle such situations. The first flight will be on May 05." The Ministry said.

The decision was made in a meeting for the committee tasked to tackle the return of Libyans stranded abroad, headed by Deputy Minister of Transportation Hisham Abu Shakiwat and Head of Libyan National Center for Disease Control Badr Al-Deen Najjar and other members and civil aviation authority representatives.
