Rashid Sawani, head of the Libyan Business Owners Council, has urged Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah to intervene following Tunisia's issuance of an arrest warrant against Libyan businessman Abdul Rahman Qaja.

Sawani expressed concerns that Tunisia's decision is causing Libyan businesspeople to be apprehensive about economic dealings with Tunisian counterparts.

Media outlets cited Sawani as saying that "the situation does not warrant an international arrest warrant, and contacting the Libyan government could have sufficed, especially given our strong economic ties."

He suggested the formation of a committee comprising representatives from relevant ministries and institutions to visit Tunisia and address the issue, which has resulted in the freezing of accounts belonging to numerous Libyan businessmen.

The specific reasons behind Tunisia's issuance of the arrest warrant against Qaja and the subsequent actions remain unclear.
