Sustainable Development

Minister of Planning Muhammad al-Zaidani, headed Libya's delegation to the High-Level Political Parliamentary Forum on Sustainable Development, which wrapped up at the UN HQ in New York on Wednesday.

Addressing the participants, Al-Zaidani said that in the past two years, Libya launched several development programs in various fields, particularly the "Return Of Life" project, which mainly targeted roads, water supply, and infrastructure.

He noted Libya's signing of a cooperation agreement with the UN Mission regarding sustainable development targeting 2023-2025. The agreement opens for collaboration between local development projects and country programs of international organizations.

The minister stressed Libya's need for a genuine partnership and the international community's support to move forward and achieve its goals in sustainable development.

Libya will submit its second voluntary report next year through the Sustainable Development Committee at the Ministry of Planning.
