Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah and Tunisian President Kais Saied have agreed to team up to deal with the EU and other international actors who share similar interests.

The two leaders met in Rome, on Sunday, on the sidelines of the International Conference on Migration and Development, with government heads and officials concerned with migration and development taking part.

Dbeibah and the Tunisian president talked about illegal immigration and agreed to have their interior ministers meet to discuss border security.

They also agreed to make travel between the two countries easier in parallel with Libya’s efforts to develop and equip the land border with state-of-the-art equipment that guarantees speedy procedures.

A statement by the Tunisian Presidency said the meeting “addressed at length several issues, including promoting fraternal relations and cooperation between Tunisia and Libya at various levels, besides other outstanding issues.”
