The Chairman of the Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC) Mustafa Sanallah said the NOC will file a lawsuit against Sheikha Hend Al-Qassemi - a national of the United Arab Emirates - for claiming to be a board member of the NOC at CC Forum in Monaco and against the management of the forum for hosting her under that title.

In a statement Friday, Sanallah said the claim of the Emirati fashion designer that she represents Libya as a board member of the NOC at the Monaco forum was "a lie" and added that the NOC contacted the forum organizers who replied via email saying that they were sorry for the inconvenience and that the woman claimed that title.

Sanallah added that the NOC is studying using all available legal action against the Monaco forum and the Emirati national.

The Libyan Oil and Gas Ministry also weighed in and vowed to take legal action to protect the NOC and other oil state institutions against malicious endeavors.

It added that it had contacted the relevant authorities in Libya regarding the UAE national who represented Libya at the CC Forum in Monaco to hold the ones behind it accountable.
