A source from the Government of National Unity denied news reports on media outlets loyal to Khalifa Haftar about conditions set by PM Abdul Hamid Dbiebah to negotiate a solution with the PM-designate Fathi Bashagha, adding that the reports are false and baseless.

The source said the unity government is focusing on holding elections on time as its stance regarding the political crisis hasn't changed; that is the unity government is the only legitimate one in Libya and is working to hold elections as per its announced plan.

“Some countries contacted PM Dbeibah for mediation but he had rejected because he thought that any party that wanted to assume power in Libya must wait till after a new parliament is elected away from using political deals of power sharing.” The source said.

218 TV channel said in a report that Dbiebah had agreed to hand over power to Bashagha on the condition that Dbiebah would be allowed to run for presidential elections when held.
