Authorities in the Derna have told people to report their damaged property to the housing and development department in the city.
According to the city's municipal council, the department will be open to those who want to report damaged buildings from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time.
Meanwhile, the Hakomitna platform of the Tripoli-based government (GNU) said that around 1,500 homes in Derna have been damaged by the storm, of which 891 buildings were levelled to the ground.
However, an International Organization for Migration (IOM) report on Friday said that 2,217 buildings were destroyed alone in Derna.
The Hakomitna account also said that torrents and floods submerged an area estimated at six square kilometres in the city.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah issued instructions to provide him with data on the affected neighbourhoods and populations in all municipalities hit by the floods.
