Sabratha Municipality urges Tunisian authorities to set its Mayor free
Sabratha Municipality has denounced the arrest of its mayor by Tunisian authorities while he was coming back from an official mission in Tunis, supervised by the UNSMIL.
The Municipality called on the Tunisian government to immediately release Mayor Hussein Al-Dwadi, and the civilian activist, Al-Azhar Al-Maqori, who was arrested on September 11, stressing that the Tunisian authorities should guarantee that they are safe and release them without any delay.
Sabratha Municipality called on the Salvation Government to assume its responsibilities toward this arrest case and to seriously try to release the arrested persons as soon as possible.
Al-Dwadi was arrested on Saturday in Carthage airport with no reasons provided.
