Tunisian President Kais Saied has expressed that Tunisia is ready to harness all its capabilities to contribute to the success of the current phase in Libya, stressing that the success of the United Nations mission in Libya is a success for his country, Libya, and the entire region.

This came during President Saied's meeting with the new UN envoy to Libya Jan Kubis in Tunisia, in which he congratulated him on assuming the leadership of the UN mission and confirmed his confidence in his success in his new duties.

Saied indicated that Libya is on the verge of a new phase in its history, following the recent political agreements as it moves away from the temporary international legitimacy to a permanent internal one, according to a statement by the Tunisian Presidency.

Meanwhile, Kubis praised the Role of Tunisia and its contribution to achieving the recent political consensus in Libya, especially by hosting the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum in early November of last year.

The UN envoy emphasized readiness to continue consultations and coordination with Tunisia and to benefit from its expertise and experience, in order to reach a final political solution that preserves the unity and stability of Libya.
