Libya’s local football team lost 1-0 to its Tunisian counterpart in the second round of the African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifications, which was held on Monday in Radès Stadium in Tunisia. 

Defending champions Libya plays in group A with Morocco and Tunisia. The Libyan local team will play its second and final match in the group against Morocco next Thursday while Morocco will play Tunisia in the final group matches later on October 25. 

Morocco and Tunisia are both on top with four points while Libya has only three.

Thursday is a decisive day for the Libyan squad who must win to secure their qualification to CHAN finals.

The first and second positions of the group will be qualified for the CHAN 2016 finals, which will kick off next January in Rwanda.

The Libyan local team is the champion of the 2014 CHAN for the first time in  history with a 4-3 penalty shoot-out win over Ghana.
