Against all predictions, São Tomé and Príncipe has beat Libya 2-1 earlier on Wednesday at São Tomé stadium as part of the third round of the qualifiers for AFCON 2017, Gabon.

The Libyan national team scored first by Faysal Al-Badri at the minute 24 of the first half and São Tomé and Príncipe tied the score minutes before the end of the match as the Libyan defender helped rest the ball inside his team’s bar. After that, De Santos scored the win goal for São Tomé and Príncipe at the minute 88.

The match performance was below average with the Libyan team putting out more efforts though it was a bit hasty and undetermined and thus lost the game for São Tomé and Príncipe with two goals at the last minutes of the match.

São Tomé and Príncipe has secured three points and boosted his position in the sixth group while Libya has come last without any points.
