Medusa

The Libyan United International Company (LUIC) on Thursday finalized a deal with Medusa Submarine Cable System to extend Medusa to Libya.

The step aims to improve the resilience and reliability of the network in the northern and southern Mediterranean nations, including Libya.

It will establish links between Libya and ten African and European countries, including Portugal, Spain, France, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Italy, Greece, Cyprus, and Egypt.

Medusa is a Mediterranean submarine infrastructure operator known for its ability to address the various challenges faced by submarine cable networks. It is also flexible in exchanging data and managing the rapid growth of the population.

The extension of Medusa to Libya will provide improved internet access, allowing major and emerging Libyan corporations to expand their global market presence through electronic commerce.

Under the contract, Libya will have direct access to southern European countries, stimulating economic growth in the northern and southern Mediterranean regions.
