A companion of Libyan mountain adventurers, Riad Sobhi and Abdelmonem Khalaf, died while the two adventurers are recovering after all of them suffered from hypothermia as their bodies' temperature dropped to below 32 degrees Celsius.

This came after they embarked on an adventure on Thursday to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, the highest peak in the continent of Africa, where the two adventurers and their companions climbed a distance of more than 3,700 metres, before they were surprised when the weather temperature changed from sunny to below the freezing level, according to what was published on the team’s page: "National Mountaineering" on Facebook.

The team's page added that despite the change in weather conditions, the two adventurers continued climbing to a distance of 4,700 meters "until they fell into a coma and their body functions collapsed before a flying ambulance intervened to save them, while one of their companions died."

The two adventurers arrived in Tanzania to embark on the adventure of climbing the Seven Summits, on a trip that started from Mitiga International Airport in Tripoli on 4 January, then Cairo Airport, Dar es Salaam Airport, and arriving at Kilimanjaro Airport.

It is noteworthy that hypothermia is an emergency medical condition that affects a person as a result of exposure to cold weather or immersion in cold water. The body temperature drops to less than 35 degrees, which leads to impaired functioning of the heart, nervous system and other organs, and ultimately leads to death if no intervention occurs.
