Cultural establishments in Libya can now apply for a US grant program under the Ambassadors Fund for Cultural Preservation (AFCP).

The program targets cultural sites, collections, and traditional cultural expressions, according to a press release by the US Embassy in Libya on Friday.

The grants offered range from $10,000 to $500,000 to support cultural sites or objects that have a historical or cultural significance to Libya's cultural heritage.

The embassy indicated that AFCP was established to help countries preserve cultural heritage and to demonstrate U.S. respect for other cultures.

It called on Interested parties to submit their proposals by January 5, 2024, provided the project does not exceed five years.
