A parliamentary committee assigned to study the impact of the foreign exchange fee imposed by the House of Representatives Speaker convened a virtual meeting with Farhat Bengdara, the Chairman of the National Oil Corporation, on Monday.
The meeting grouped the committee's Chairman/ HoR Second Deputy Speaker, Msbah Doma, committee members Badr Al-Nahib, Zaid Hadia, Mouloud Abu Al-Qasim Al-Aswad, and NOC officials.
According to a statement released by HoR spokesman Abdullah Belihaq, the committee did not disclose any outcomes or results from Monday's meeting.
The controversy surrounding the decision to impose a 27% fee on the official exchange rate of foreign currencies for all purposes until the end of 2024 remains unresolved. However, the Central Bank of Libya has directed banks to execute the resolution.
