The Director-General of Tripoli University Hospital -Tripoli Medical Center formerly - Nabil Al-Ajili, revealed Monday that the hospital debt owed to pharmaceutical and medical companies from 2013 to date amounted to more than 80 million dinars.

Ajili stressed during his meeting with board of directors, deans of medical colleges, and the Council of Medical Specialties, on the need to conduct maintenance work for all hospital facilities, which has not taken place since the opening of the hospital in 1996, by contracting local and international companies, according to the hospital's Facebook.

It is noteworthy that the Presidential Council decided in the middle of this month to reorganize the Tripoli Medical Centre and to adopt it as a university hospital under the name of "The University Hospital of Tripoli."
