International Organization for Migration (IOM) said it had repatriated 60.000 illegal immigrants from Libya to their home countries in voluntary programs since 2015.

IOM said Friday that the immigrants were repatriated as part of the humanitarian and voluntary return flights, adding that 47% of those repatriated were in detention centers in Libya while the rest were in urban areas.

IOM said over 3000 illegal immigrants had been rescued in the Mediterranean and returned to Libya.
