The Africa Intelligence website has revealed that the Emirati energy company Trasta is seeking compensation worth $1.8 billion from the National Oil Corporation (NOC) for Lerco.

The French website said in a report on Wednesday that the NOC is negotiating behind the scenes to buy Trasta shares in the Lerco case before a new hearing scheduled to be held on January 12.

The Paris Court of Appeal issued a ruling months ago in favor of the National Oil Corporation against the Emirati company, granting it full control over the Ras Lanuf refinery.
