The Director of the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC), Haider Al-Sayeh, has denied the spread of leishmaniasis in Bir Al-Ghanam area.
Al-Sayeh confirmed in a video clip posted on his Facebook account that the area was free of any epidemics after a visit conducted by the monitoring team and the epidemiology office to the city, during which they examined several migrants in the city.
The results showed that several migrants in one of the shelter centers were infected with bacterial skin infection and that the necessary treatment was provided to them after they were diagnosed by the specialized teams, Al-Sayeh added.
Al-Sayeh pointed out that the NCDC has developed a future plan to solve the health problems that inmates may be exposed to inside the shelter centers in the region and its suburbs.
