The Ministry of Interior has announced the discovery of an ancient cemetery dating back to the Punic era in the municipality of Zawiya.
The Tourism Police and Antiquities Protection Authority received a report from a citizen who found archaeological site during digging a piece of land he owns in the municipality, according to the ministry.
All legal measures were taken by assigning members of the tourist police and antiquities protection to protect the site from tampering and theft.
