The UN Secretary-General's Special Representative to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, has urged Libyan parties to draw on Algeria's reconciliation experience to find appropriate formulas and end the crisis.
During a meeting with Algerian Prime Minister Nadir Larbaoui on Monday, the UN official expressed "great appreciation" for Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune's commitment to supporting the national reconciliation process in Libya.
The meeting, held on the sidelines of the high-level African Union Committee meeting on Libya in Brazzaville, focused on the recent developments in Libya and explored ways to support the UN's efforts aimed at expediting the political settlement process.
