The head of the High Council of State (HCS), Mohammed Takala, discussed Thursday with the European Union Ambassador, Nicola Orlando, proposals that would end the political stalemate and move the country along a sound democratic path.
Both sides reviewed developments in the Libyan political situation after the failure of the former UN envoy’s mission, his resignation, and the appointment of his deputy, Stephanie Khoury, according to the HCS media office.
Takala appreciated the role played by the European Union in ending the dispute between the Libyan political parties in an effort to achieve stability in Libya and the entire region.
