The spokesman for Janzour Protection Force, Ahmed Abdul-Jalil, said that the coastal road is still closed for the seventh day in a row.

Abdul-Jalil added in a press statement that intensive meetings are taking place between security authorities, the Mayor of Janzour Municipality, the commander of the western Military Zone and the commander of the Presidential Guard to reopen the road.

He confirmed that there is a cautious calm and that the road will remain closed until a solution is found to ensure the safety of all traffic.

The main coastal road has been closed since last week as a result of clashes between members of so-called Tribes Army and forces of the Presidential Guard and Fursan Janzour Brigade.
