The 12th Conference of Ministers of Culture of the Islamic World, held by the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) and hosted by Qatar, has issued a statement of solidarity with the Kingdom of Morocco, following the tragic earthquake of Al Haouz and surrounding regions, and the State of Libya in the aftermath of the floods of Derna and eastern regions.
The statement offered heartfelt condolences to the respective heads of state, government and people of the Kingdom of Morocco and the State of Libya, paid tribute to the victims and wished a prompt recovery to the injured, lauding ICESCO’s initiative to send two humanitarian caravans, the contribution of its staff to the voluntary solidarity fund for the earthquake victims
The statement also affirmed readiness to support the competent authorities of the Kingdom of Morocco and the State of Libya in assessing and preserving their heritage sites affected by the two disasters.
