Italian energy corporation Eni has confirmed reports of a cyber attack on Mellitah Oil and Gas Company, in which it maintains a stake.
The attack, attributed to a group identified as "RansomHub," has raised concerns after the group threatened to disclose one terabyte of data unless a $50 million ransom is paid, according to local sources.
Eni reassured stakeholders that the cyber intrusion has not impacted production or operational activities, confirming efforts to restore affected information technology systems.
