Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibah received on Monday the UN Envoy to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, to discuss the coordination of international efforts to address the situation in the flood-affected areas east of Libya.

The meeting was joined by the head of the government team for the Emergency and Rapid Response Committee, Minister of Local Government, Badr al-Din al-Toumi.

A statement by the Hakomitna platform said the group addressed the situation in the cities most affected by the storm, including Derna, where devastating floods on September 10 swept through the city, killing thousands.

The rapid response committee gave a briefing during the session on its efforts to confront the crisis in the Jabal al-Akhdar region.
