The Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity (GNU) Abdul Hamid Dbeibah discussed on Wednesday with the US envoy to Libya, Richard Norland, and Chargé d'Affairs at the US Embassy, Leslie Ordman, local and international efforts to hold elections this year.

The meeting reviewed raising the level of government disclosure and transparency, activating the spending follow-up mechanism and ensuring fair distribution of revenues, according to a statement issued by the media office of the Prime Minister.

Dbeibah also reaffirmed his support for the efforts of the Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Head of the United Nations Support Mission to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, praising the effective American role in Libya and its international support for holding elections.
