The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya, Sedek Elkaber, convened with the French Special Envoy to Libya, Paul Soler, and the French Ambassador, Mustafa Mehraj, at the Élysée Palace for a meeting on the rationalization of spending and the latest developments in unifying the Central Bank of Libya.
The agenda of the meeting also included discussions on the approval of a united budget for 2024 in collaboration with the Parliamentary Finance Committee and relevant stakeholders. During the meeting, the Central Bank of Libya presented its vision for streamlining spending to ensure financial stability and sustainability.
The parties also deliberated on measures to address the unknown source currency and its impact on the exchange rate in the parallel market.
