The Libyan Minister of State for Women’s Affairs, Houria Al-Tarmal, has met with the Japanese Ambassador to Libya, Shimura Izuru, to discuss ways to strengthen the role of Libyan women.
The Japanese Embassy in Libya stated on Tuesday that the meeting involved an exchange of experiences and perspectives between the two sides on empowering women and promoting equal opportunities.
Both parties expressed their commitment to supporting the comprehensive advancement of women in Libya.
On April 4, the Japanese ambassador also met with UN envoy Hanna Tetteh to discuss the work of the advisory committee, during which Tetteh stressed the importance of the committee completing its mandate and delivering practical recommendations to support the UN mission’s efforts in resolving the political crisis.
