Assistant Secretary-General, Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for Libya, Georgette Gagnon, has said that the United Nations is committed to working to promote sustainable development for all in Libya in cooperation with local communities and government authorities.

This came during a recent visit by Georgette Gagnon, to a number of sites in the old city of Ghadames, Daraj and Awal, according to a statement published by the UN mission’s Facebook page.

The mission added that the United Nations Development Programme installed solar panels to help provide the electricity needed for lighting a medical facility, a school, and along the tourist trail of the Old City.
